From Changyun (Berylleb King Tea Ebay)

n the Organic tea plantations in Yunnan, the Pu’er tea trees grow with Camphor Trees, so tea leaves absorb the flavor of Camphor trees. The cake is round and smooth and leaf lines are tight and shapely and appropriately packed. The cake surface yields a brownish red color with fine sheen and golden hairs. It brew a bright red broth, as clear as crystal, and a mellow and full-bodied flavor with a slight nature camphor flavor, lingering sweet aftertaste and touches of aged aroma.
The Tea Cake won the 2007 Cloud Tea Cup Award of excellence, and the 2007 Dongguan Tea festival Gold Medal.

This is a really interesting tea, although I haven’t always been a fan of camphor in the past. I think my tastes are changing.

This is very dark and sweet shu. The camphor flavor is indeed, very strong in this tea. There is a lingering sweet aftertaste that stays on your palette for a long time after you’ve finished the tea. It has something of an uplifting quality in my opinion. It also has some fruity elements that are reminiscent of cherry. I am tempted to get one of these for myself after I’ve finished off the sample :)

I had a sample of this tea. I thought it was good but I didn’t end up buying it.

This is a good tea. It has a nice camphor taste balanced by a sweet taste. The camphor taste is not overpowering. It has only a moderate amount of fermentation flavor left to it. Mr Mopar’s review of this tea was on the mark. There were some buttery notes. I liked this tea even though I did not like camphor teas in the past. I guess my tastes have changed.

I steeped this tea 6 times in a 170ml Yixing teapot with boiling water and 6g leaf. I steeped it for 10 sec, 5 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, and 30 sec. It was fairly weak by the sixth steep. Either it is a slightly weak tea or I did not use enough leaf. Thank you Mr Mopar for this sample. I have enough left for one more gongfu session in the future and may try a little more leaf.

This tea is perhaps the most caffeinated of any tea ever.

This tea has an almost buttery mouthfeel to it. It comes across with wood, vanilla and camphor notes. These are slightly subdued as this is the second day drinking this. It leaves an almost sweet lasting taste dancing around the back of the mouth. Pleasant and smooth no off tastes to put you off this one.
