From Camellia Sinensis

Here’s a small experimental lot from the Dooars region located just southeast of Darjeeling. Orthodox transformation of the leaves, assamica variety, was accomplished by following the procedure of 1st flush Darjeelings. Lively and full bodied, its grassy liquor is softened by gentle malt, gourmet (walnuts) and spicy nuances.

Describing it as a first flush darjeeling is a very accurate way to go. I got that green bell pepper taste, but lacking in the muscatel aroma that I have come to enjoy from Darjeelings.

I liked their description of walnuts…which maybe I can taste…or maybe not. I wouldn’t have thought of it until I read over their tasting notes.

Not their best tea, but certainly a tea worth trying.
