While most huangpian puers can be described as sweet and soft, this one plays exception to the rule. Comprised of Naka old tree material, this huangpian holds its own against many younger picked puer. Yes, it is quite sweet and quite smooth, but it also has a very full flavour and thick body.
Due to the dry spring we experienced in Yunnan this year, there was very little huangpian to sort out from this year’s maocha. We went ahead and bought everything we could from our contact in Naka, totaling less than 10kg. While the price may not set it apart, the limited availability makes this tea worth keeping close.
Picking period: Pre-April 15
