Another from one of my Liquid Proust boxes – im guessing this is the tea, if not, let me know and i will change it
Its a nice one – classic Dayuling aroma with a hint of candyfloss in there, or maybe sherbet something. some floral perhaps. anyway, its nice.
Taste is a bit more savoury than the aroma, but again, nice Dayuling, its quite a clear one, not too thick or veggie, and certainly no astringency or bitterness or anything bad for that matter. Weirdly i think this has a bit of caffeine in it, not what im used to.
The cup i had was a bit more subtle than i thought it would be – not that thats a bad thing, it also had a nice green aftertaste. i did my standard 3g/3mins/fisheye boil, maybe it can take a bit more of the heat, or a bit more amount of tea to kick up the flavour a bit.
not bad price too! liked it – didnt set my world on fire but i think with a bit of coaxing it could be a really good cup. certainly not throwing it out of bed :)
Flavors: Cotton Candy, Floral, Grass, Rose, Sweet, Vegetal
This was a well kept secret for some time :p
Should I shut up about it lol?
No. Did you review the secret black yet?
The Wild Dianhong, yeah, and have been for a while. I have not purchased the unsmoked Lapsang yet.
Speaking of Lapsang, would you be interested to try the unsmoked Lapsang that What-Cha offers? I have a little left, but was wondering if you wanted me to save it for the next far reaching trade. I am reserving the Taiwan Sencha and a Korean Black Dancha (it’s a lot like a Japanese black) as well if you are still interested. As for the trade itself, like I said, whenever in the future.
They have a daffodil Oolong too….
I have that Shui Xian too lol. I like the Dan Cong more.
I’ve been eyeing Berylleb for a while now. Prices seem almost too good to be true…their Dayuling is almost a 1/3 of Taiwan Tea Crafts. But they seem legit though based on all the positive reviews. I think I’ll take a chance on them next time I order oolong.
This one I’m enjoying a lot personally. I’ve had better Dayulings for sure, but there’s no arguing with the price and the taste is still a better quality.
I’ve wanted to try the Light Roast Li Shans and Ali Shans myself with the Jin Xuan Dong Ding. The reviews were divided on that one in particular and wanted to see myself if it was good.
