Yin Jun Mei is made of tea bud tips with bud leaf which are picked before Tomb-Sweeping Day from a rare and primitive specie of wild tea which grow on mountain, in the National Natureal Conservation Area of Wuyi Mountain, with an attitude of 1500 to 1800 meters. A skilled worker can only pick about 2000 pieces of tea bud tips per day and needs tens of thousands of pieces of the bud tips to produce, adopting the traditional handmade processing technology of lapsang tea, 500 grams of Yin Jun Mei. The processed of Yin Jun Mei also same to Jin Jun Mei, it has the following characteristics: tight, slender and gold-yellow-black tea leaf, golden tea soap, mixed aromas of fruit, flower, honey, and potato. Yin Jun Mei is also a top-level treasure like Jin Jun Mei.

Drinking the last of this at work today. Way more smokey than I would have thought, not at all what I was expecting. This is a strange China black. It’s harsher than I’m used to, non of the usual notes. Tea and smoke that’s what I’m getting. Weird.
The Jin Jun Mei (Golden Eyebrow) that I got at the same time as this is right up there with my favorite Jun Jun Mei – if I were to order more from them, I would get that rather than this. I’m not saying this is bad, it’s just not for me.

I don’t like trying samples from friends at work in travel mugs as i like to give them their full attention. Of course, as i say that, i drank this one several hours ago, and my other half dragged me outside before i had a chance to write a tasting note lol.
As some of you know, Jin Jun mei’s are hit or miss for me. I don’t seem to love them with the same passion as others do. This one was on the nice side though. Sweet, not really malty but reminded me of sweet potatoes a little…I had this one gulped down pretty quickly :) Also my first experience with this company if i’m not mistaken. :) thanks dexter!
