A very good Ceylon. It doesn’t scream ‘copper’, like Lover’s Leap Estate does, but it is unmistakably Ceylon black tea. I tend for forget about it, as I like to around with the fancy China teas and the bold Assams, but Ahmnad’s Ceylon is quiet, dependable, and delicious. No bitterness at 4 minutes.
This is perhaps my favorite bagged tea. The way I stumbled upon it was kind of funny. I was on a trip to Raleigh for training, and in Cary to meet my friend at a Thai restaurant. I went into a Turkish store to ask for directions. It turned out that the restaurant was directly across the parking lot. I felt bad not buying anything at the store, so I bought this tea, thinking it would just be so-so. I’ve been searching every store in southeastern North Carolina for this tea since I finished the box…I may have to buy it online. I’ve rambled enough…nice tea, a very smooth Ceylon…highly recommended.
My favorite company for bagged. The sell many varieties in loose as well. A solid Cheapster Steepster brand.
Hahaha, I love that term, KS!! I’m definitely a Cheapster Steepster! :P I found a Turkish store near my sister’s house, hoping to find some Ahmad tea when I go there on Thursday!
For me, the best Ceylon out there and I’m a loose leaf snob. I’m not quite sure why bergamot is mentioned in the tea description on Steepster, but I can tell you that there is NO bergamot in this tea. They save that for their English Afternoon. Caramel sweetness, nice bloom, mild astringency. I agree with the other taster that this is morning stuff. I don’t know why but it seems to be very high in caffeine.
And despite what the note says, there is absolutely NO bergamot in this tea.
