Today is not going my way right now. I was doing a nail polish inventory and discovered my favorite polish has dried up! But on the plus side, there is a polish that looks JUST like it that’s only $2! So I’m going to go try to find it tomorrow. And then I wanted to make pretzel bites, but I don’t have enough flour! (now I could make cheese sauce..muahahaha)

And then this tea. I bought a tin of this thinking I’d give it to my friend for her birthday. Of course, she bought it for herself on Black Friday too. Thankfully I too am a Sagittarius so I was just like alright, keeping it. She ended up giving me a sample of it, so this is from that sample.

Not a fan as of right now, I think I need to add milk to it. It’s just WAY too floral, and there is absolutely no raspberry or vanilla. I doubt there would ever be raspberry if it’s just the pieces in the tea, so it’s pretty much over the top earl grey.

Trying it cooled off now and it’s far more subdued, maybe I can taste vanilla. It does seem far creamier now, but there is still no raspberry. I do not find this tea to represent me as a Sagittarius at this time.

I’m a Sagittarius too and I really don’t like earl grey, so this won’t be one I’m interested in.

:O I’m a tiger too!

This is an outstanding blend: It smells amazing and tastes even better. Raspberry, bergamot are creme and so well balanced. Probably my new favorite.
I would highly recommend it.

starfishey

I’m right there with you. It’s fantastic!

That’s Tony’s sign…hmmm…I know he’d love the bergamot…not so sure about the raspberry

inguna

Only one way to find out :)

I am a Sag, so I may be a little biased :) This is an amazing tea. The first smell you get is a very strong earl grey, then the raspberry and vanilla-cream shine through. I would recommend using a little less than you normally would. The first time I steeped this I used to much and it was a little bitter. Then I scaled back the amount and steeped for 3-4 minutes and it was perfect! I use 1 tsp of sugar to accentuate the raspberry and vanilla. Simply Delish!

I love the Aquarius blend, & I offered to buy some of this for my boyfriend, who is a sag, & who’s fav tea is earl grey, but he didn’t like the idea of raspberry. I’m glad to hear you like it!

inguna

I agree with Kate; I think raspberry works.

Terri HarpLady

Maybe I’ll buy him some anyway, LOL, & if he doesn’t like it, I’ll drink it :)

Kate

The citrus of the Earl Gray and the raspberry really do complement each other. And the addition of a creamy vanilla tames what could be two potentially potent flavors. I hope your boyfriend (or you) enjoy it!

It’s quite cool outside today—relative to the recent weather—so I decided to live it up and make some adulteratable blends since I happen to have some fresh organic half & half in the fridge. First up: Adagio Sagittarius.

It has been a while since I last brewed this tea, so I felt as though I were coming to something new. I observed the raspberry and vanilla before all of the other flavors, including bergamot and safflower. Upon adulteration, I naturally noticed the creaminess!

This blend is quite a bit less fruity than Harney & Sons Paris, but it seems to be made in the same general spirit: a fruity, less citric variant on Earl Grey. In this case, the bergamot is so light that I’d describe Sagittarius as more of a fruity-vanilla blend. It’s pretty good, but after tasting the dark amber liquor au naturel, I went ahead and doused. I don’t really like the China black used as the base in this Zodiac series, but it’s perfectly fine with cream.

Thanks, christeana1. The high here today was about 70F! It’s supposed to be 90F again on Wednesday. Back to iced tea. ;-)

It definitely felt warmer to me:…but then again I work in a cooler. It looks like I am not too far away from you if you are still in the commonwealth. 90s yikes! I Do enjoy reading your tasting notes btw:-).

So, it’s been a couple days since I’ve updated. I was laid off my job on Friday so that’ll probably put a damper on the whole “trying new teas thing.” Sad day. :’(

IN BRIGHTER NEWS THOUGH, I WON A TEA GIVE AWAY ON TUMBLR!! YES! I got 4 of the Adagio’s Zodiac teas. I thought I would start out with this one because I am a Sagittarius, hurhur. MAN, I’m glad I picked this. It was SOOO good!

I resteeped this 3 different times and every time it was fantastic! The third time it started losing flavour, but that’s to be expected. I was excited to have the raspberry as the fruit in this tea since the other Adaigo tea I’ve had with raspberry was also really good. I was worried, though, that it might be too fruity. Fruity teas are among my favorite, but based on the ingredients I really didn’t want it overpower everything else. Thankfully that was not the case.

The raspberry was very subdued and made a great compliment to the vanilla and creme. The vanilla and creme was more in the forefront, but unlike the strawberry creme tea I’ve reviewed in the past this was not creamy in a gross way. The earl grey was definitely in there too, but I really had to try and pick everything out. This tea really just blends everything together in a wonderful way. Sweet, and delicious. Adding a bit of sugar made it even better.

FANTASTICO.

Sorry to hear about the job situation! Hope you’re in a good place, though, and can take a few days to rest and relax before you start looking for something else. =)

inguna

Being laid off sucks. Sorry.
Glad you liked this blend, I enjoyed it too.

This tea was given to me by my girlfriend. She enjoyed it but it wasn’t something she would continue to drink. She’s not a very big fan of black teas. It’s a nice sweet tea without being overpoweringly so. You definitely get the berry notes of the raspberry. It’s pretty mellow even with adding a little over two teaspoons. I like the more stronger teas myself personally. Overall though it’s still a very nice tea. So if mellow teas are more your style, you’re sure to keep coming back for more. As for myself this will be a tea I drink ever so often.

Different suppliers corner the market on different signature teas/blends. This is one of Adagio’s gems. Sagittarius is, in three words, raspberry earl grey. It is a very distinctive and very appealing flavor combination that works out better than many generic fruit blacks, and has become a favorite in my family. It’s almost a shame that, as part of a larger blend set, it’s likely to need to live or die by the rest of the Zodiac series, but for now, at least, the Zodiac blends seem to still be in favor and Sagittarius is readily available.
