Ingredients: Black tea, organic plums, organic nutmeg, organic amaranth petals and organic natural flavors.

Pulled this 2018 tea for the May prompt “a geeky tea.”
The dry leaf was beautiful; the rolled leaves were sooooo long and once brewed, some looked positively autumnal floating in the warm water. Dry, the leaf smelled of nutmeg and a little custardy, but the minute water hit the leaves I got a strong floral/fruity aroma. Steeped, I still get that fruity aroma, as well as a sharp medicinal note. I’m not sure I could peg the particular fruity aroma, but I can certainly get a plum association… I think my nose is smelling an odd combination of plum, fig, and raisin. The more I stick my nose in the cup while waiting for the tea to cool, the more I smell the nutmeg, as well.
I’m getting a warm fruit compote flavor from the cooled tea, not medicinal at all on the tongue. Definitely tastes a bit like a combination of the above three fruity flavors, but with a hint of cherry as well, particularly at the end of the sip. I taste the nutmeg, but it is lightly warming and not a strong presense. I don’t really get any of the custardy notes that I could smell on the dry leaf, but there is a sort of honeyed sweetness to the tea.
Very satisfying on (yet another) dreary rainy day.

Admittedly, I don’t really remember this from the HP books/movies and I’ve never actually had plum pudding before so I’m not totally sure what I should be comparing this to? Though, in doing some quick Googling I did find an interesting article sort of relating to this topic:
Steeped up, I find this tea nice but not outstanding. There’s definitely a fruityness to the blend that is plum adjacent; meaning I find it stonefruit like but would not be capable of blindly identifying as that of plum. There are some warming spice notes, like cinnamon and maybe nutmeg. That’s pretty comforting; and I don’t hate the idea of a gentle spiced, warming plum kind of brew. It’s a touch astringent, in a way that adds body and complexity to the profile. I’m missing a sweetness or creaminess that would make me think of pudding; even kind of pudding that are more of a spiced sort of dish still have some try of creamy/custardy element. I know Anne said she added vanilla and custard essence to this; it’s just not translating for me personally though.
It’s still a good, solid cup though – it just lacks… sparkle? That hint of magic that would give me all the Harry Potter vibes? Something in that vein…
There really wasn’t a Dirigible Plum Pudding in the Harry Potter world – but in the final movie when the trio goes to Luna Lovegood’s house, they have a Dirigible Plum tree in the front. This particular tea base (Bu Lang) and some lovely fruity notes to it that I felt would play well to the plum so I decided to make a sixth tea for Harry Potter month and call it Dirigible Plum since I was making it for release in October. :)

Got a little derailed from my alphabet challenge due to children and other life circumstances; going to get back on track with “E” tomorrow which will leave me exactly enough days in the month to make it to Z! Haha.
I really like this tea. Again, there’s a really great base with nice flavour, and then some vague flavouring notes on top – I really taste nothing in the way of what I’d think of as plum pudding, but I like it anyways. It does still remind me of Butiki’s plum teas, although “plum” was never a flavour I got from any of them.
