Definitely keeping it low this year. I will likely be moving this year and one of my favorite things about moving is paring down possessions. Sorry to my favorite vendors.

January – Mountain Stream Teas – $55.00

I went a little overboard with tea purchases last year. This year, I’m not necessarily trying to spend less, but I’m trying to buy tea that I’ll actually drink during a reasonable timeframe or that’s supposed to age beyond a year or two. Sometimes I feel like I’m already buying tea I won’t get to until 2025!

January:
Ethan Kurland: US$178 (215 g)

March:
Teavivre: US$55.10 (100 g)
Treasure Green: $179.50 CAD (115 g)

Totals previous years:
2019: $1351
2020: $685.23
2021: $856.92
2022: $704.71
2023: $700 ish

I discontinued my subscription to the White2Tea club. I never got to any of those teas in a timely fashion. There are two un-opened packages from them in my living room. Additionally, a lot of pu-erh came in the sub, more than I could ever drink. I like shou fairly well, but don’t much like sheng. I’ll try to work through these eventually.

This frees up some money. Looking at my last several years being under budget and having too much tea, I’m going to set my tea budget at $500 for the year. Tea-ware budget is $0 unless I see something that I absolutely have to have. However, since I’m also a potter, that doesn’t tend to be much. I usually decide I can make whatever I need. :)

My cupboard on Steepster and my tracking spreadsheet are wildly out of date. I have no idea how much tea I actually have!

April: White2Tea $73.94
Tea-sipper told me one of the teas I recently reviewed and loved was still available on the site. I had some restraint on this order. No cakes!

Total: $73.94
