Quite astringent for an Earl Grey, but mellowed a bit with milk. Peppery and bright from the bergamot oil, which doesn’t get a lot of backup from the Ceylon tea – there’s no strong black tea feel to back up the bergamot. I like mine strong and hearty, but this one doesn’t quite get to that level (and I won’t risk oversteeping an Earl Grey).
Just received an assortment of tea from Timeless Teas, from a friend – this Assam is robust and has a malty flavor without being overly strong. I sweeten mine and add milk, which results in an earthy, satisfying breakfast tea. I look forward to trying the other Timeless Teas!
Preparation
I received this tea in a (non-steepster) Tea Swap. Thanks Mel!!! This is the first time I have tried anything from Timeless Teas. The sample was fairly small in size BUT a little really does go a long way! This is HIGHLY scented Jasmine and the taste is sweet, floral, smooth, and Jasmine-esque. It’s very light in color but I thin that is because of the amount I steeped. This has NO bitter aftertaste at all which I really appreciate. This was a delightful Cup.
EDITED NOTE***
This tea does expand in size quite well so the amount seemed to be just-right in my opinion. :)
