When I finally could see my family in Belgium back after 22 months because of the pandemic, my sister-in-law gave me a pack of this first flush darjeeling, remembering the wonderful first flush darjeeling I had served her and my brother when they visited us in Hampshire, UK a few years ago. Unfortunately, the tea company I bought that darjeeling from is no more, so it´s difficult finding a replacement.
The German company responsable for picking and distributing this specific darjeeling is new to me, but it seems they offer great value for money, which I can appreciate a lot (yes, there are a lot of huge brands around, often providing wonderful teas at premium prices, but smaller brand names might just be able to sell even nicer teas without the posh packaging ;-) ).
The first time I brewed this darjeeling I wasn´t particularly impressed (probably comparing too much to that previous first flush darjeeling), as I thought the liquor was maybe a bit too pronounced in colour, the aroma´s not as elegant as I wanted them to be, but in mouth it´s a nice and gentle first flush alright. As the leaves are still in a bright and lively condition after one brew, I decided to steep them again, and I even think the tea grows with a second steeping! I now always take 2 mugs with one and the same teaspoon of loose tea. I tried steeping it a third time once, but there, quality and enjoyment went straight down ;-)
A final note : I truly believe that a good pouch (with zipper) is a better way of maintaining the quality of these fine teas. I shall need to drink this tea a lot and/or put the bag in a tin.

Blend is from the Chamong garden.
The Chamong plantation is isolated from much of the rest of the Darjeeling region and is nestled in the Rong Bong Valley approximately an hour and a half from the town of Darjeeling itself. The garden itself is in fact closer to the remote hill town of Sukhiapokhri, located almost directly on the India, Nepal border. This makes it the most westerly garden of the whole of the Darjeeling region, giving it’s teas a distinct and unique flavour. The garden is well noted for the superb tea it produces has won numerous awards for the delicate flavour of its tea.
Tea is a masterblend,: a darjeeling with a complex aftertaste of honey, peach, apricot and nuts.
Unbelievable good darjeeling for an unbeatable price. !!!!
As good as it gets! Yummmm.
Flavors: Apricot, Honey, Nuts, Peach
Preparation
Killing (any) darjeeling in too hot water, and you’ll end up with a bitter brew.
This one is tricky, but if you found the right temp and the right amount, it brews a wonderful, smooth green cuppa, very similar to a dragonwell.Since I love darjeelings I will probably buy again.
At Teekampagne you can buy a year’s supply in bulk at very reasonable prices. (FF, SF, Selected (blend), & Green darjeelings.)
All teas are Organic and come from sustainable gardens.

I’m glad you were able to reconnect with family! (And a tea reconnection at that!)
