This tastes like jello, but I really don’t mind. It’s a little weak and not special, but decently refreshing cold. I don’t remember where I found this, I think from a previous TTB.

I cut open a bunch of bags to make a Christmas gift blend and noticed that the material inside is 100% chamomile petals. The aroma is assertive for a flower I generally find demure. Definitely more apple in taste than floral or haylike. Sweeter than expected but it does finish a tad drying. Leaves a lingering sweet pollen-fruity-floral aftertaste which is surprising!

This one’s pretty impressive as far as bagged chamomile goes.

Aside: My cupboard has finally reached sub-230 teas, the majority of which are puerh samples. I am excited about this.

What did you blend the chamomile with?

Yes, inquiring minds want to know!

I honestly don’t remember everything in that blend, something like CS Sleepytime… chamomile, lemon balm, spearmint, lavender, hops, linden, a few more herbs I think might’ve been California native plants.

I made a few others. Nettle and rosehips; red clover and marshmallow root; linden and osmanthus.

(Visions from some young adult novel from a hundred years ago of a little bent-over granny puttering in her stillroom with the cat watching :) I love the notion of making your own for gift giving!

I’m intrigued by the red clover and marshmallow root!

I got this one from derk I suppose, from first swap? Thank you (or somebody else)

I needed something hot (and what else than tea), but it is already 11 pm. Why I am drinking so late you ask? Simple! I was drinking beer with my friend, had hamburgers in local restaurant (they were f*cking awesome) before, so I took something I do not have to rate (as I never rate pure chamomile teas).

The colour of the tea is not changing much. It is quite light, yellow, maybe rather green.

In taste? Common chamomile tea. Basic. Nothing extra, but as well nothing bad.

Yep, from me. Chamomile is chamomile unless it’s Lipton. Then it’s cardboard.

At my local organic grocery store, with practically an entire aisle of teas to choose from, this is my favorite cheap bagged green tea.

I’m a fan of the Newman’s Own brand. I’ve found their products are generally high quality, and I like them for being green and donating 100% of their profits to various educational and charitable organizations.

When I don’t have time to hassle with loose leaf brewing, this is a fine choice for green tea.

It is especially forgiving of accidental over-steeping or using water that is too hot.

The flavor is fairly mild (double-bag for stronger results), with flavors of honey and malt in addition to the classic green-tea flavor. This isn’t world class green tea, but it is totally drinkable, affordably priced, and nicely satisfies my green-tea cravings.

I’ve been drinking the black version of this tea for years. It’s cheap for 100 organic black tea bags, and the individual packaging is quite convenient. This is a strong and bitter tea that does the trick when I need a pick-me-up in the morning. Highly recommended!

I tried the green tea today. First steep was about 2:30sec with pre-boiling water. The taste is meh. Could be worse, but could certainly be better. A bit bitter. Next brew I’ll try 2 min and see how it goes. The smell isn’t bad though. I just wish I had the choice where I shop to buy a 20bag box instead of the 40bag box I got.

Newman’s Own organic black tea makes great iced tea. Add fresh mint leaves for extra flavor!

Not bad ,not great. I need 3 bags to make it have any flavor, the king size or the family size one s are good each bag is supposed to make 4 cups, but if you brew it up in one cup and drink it, you will be rewarded with a cup of awesome!!
