I’m trying to make a dent in my hibiscus herbal collection of teas I don’t really love but don’t hate enough to compost/give away.

Cold water, steeped ~15-20 minutes in ~400 mL water
The most noticeable notes are sour acidic hibiscus and a nice peach flavour. The peach is stronger in the after taste and the smell of the liquid. The initial taste is generic fruity with hibiscus and it takes a moment to notice the peach. I can’t taste any rhubarb in particular but it is fairly sour. This would be best served with sweetener or in a lemonade drink.

But I am pretty sure it is even available here, in the Czech Republic. At least I have seen few boxes from London Tea Company. I think it was in railway station in my University city.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Izzy’s rating. It is medicore Earl Grey blend (if even, because not sure about bergamot in). The base is quite well – could be better though and citrus notes are bit bland and boring. The tea was cloudy and very dark brown colour which was not very appealing too. Honestly I am not sure if it is bergamot flavoured, rather just lemon peels. And… it was bit bitter and biting, not very tasty.

Little extra points for being fairtrade, but I guess it is rather just a marketing. It was cheap tea I think. And flavourings of unknown origin and not described which flavours? Sad. Another extra point for cute bag. But that’s all.

It is evening again and I need again caffeine-free tea as I need to sleep. Moreover, I had a beer (Robin by Zichovec brewery, if somebody wonders) before, so, my taste buds can be affected a bit.

But this is “just camomile” so, as usual, I would not rate it. It made wonderful, yellow, pure and clear colour! That makes me surprised that there are not dust as usual. Good start.

I think I will let it in all time. It is herbal, so what?

In taste – quite sweet, pollen like, honey and typical chamomile. No bad notes.

In conclusion, good camomile tea. I can recommend it, though – it is camomile :D

I wasn’t a huge fan of this. Maybe my EG expectations are just too high.

The dry tea bag had no aroma at all, even though it was sealed up in a wrapper, sealed up inside a box, sealed up inside my tea drawer. The chances of it going stale from time (still a year before expiry) or air exposure are virtually non-existent… so why was it so un-aromatic and watery?

The bergamot is simply listed as “natural flavouring” which I thought was odd too. Why not “natural bergamot flavouring”? The flavour was lemon zesty when I took a sip so maybe that’s why. Maybe it’s not entirely bergamot.

The flavour was bitter, lemony and had a weak black tea base. No body or warmth. The lemon wasn’t as bad as some toilet cleaner teas, but it didn’t taste natural either. I only brewed for 2 minutes but it went very dark, very quickly. If I have it with milk, I go for nearer the 3 minute mark.

Don’t get me wrong, the tea wasn’t bad. I wasn’t grimacing with every sip. It just wasn’t good either. Not sure what to do with the rest of the box.

This was a work freebie, one of the only perks of an extremely frustrating job. It’s not the best rooibos blend; very woody, with that classic “sawdust” flavour. There’s a decent splash of vanilla, though, which comes through better as it cools. Hot, it’s just scratchy rooibos. I added a splash of milk to try and round things out, and that helped a little. I think it brought out the creaminess a bit more.

Ultimately, I’m fairly indifferent about this one. The rooibos is very prominent, and the vanilla isn’t as strong as I’d have liked it to be. Worth a try, though, because you never know.

I was quite unsure about this tea as I’m not a big lover of raspberry. I find it’s usually very tarty and bitter.

HOWEVER! I made sure to only brew this tea for 4 minutes and found it had a lovely refreshing raspberry taste, not bitter at all. I added half a teaspoon of sugar, however it didn’t really need it as it’s already quite sweet. This tea would be lovely cold too!

Another artificially flavoured tea from the London Tea Co. This one was quite surprising as to me it tasted more like raspberry than strawberry, I’ve yet to try the raspberry variety though. Good for those sweet cravings, however I wasn’t a huge lover of this bitter brew.

Sorry for the lack of updates, only a few days before I move house so I’m rushing around a-lot at the moment. This was my second cup of tea today and it was just not as pleasant as it sounds. The apricot was mildly sweet and could be mistaken for peach as it was not as sharp/tangy as you would expect with apricot in particular, pair that with a strangely herbal and dry elderflower after taste and you have the basic idea of how this tea tastes.

I poured the last few mouthfuls away, it just felt old and stale though I hadn’t had the bags long. Luckily I only had a sample of them and I can give the others to my husband to leave at work for his friends.

Found a teabag of this tea in a tea box I hadn´t looked into for quite a while…still a nice tea, where apricot is definitely dominating, and elderflower is only present in a subtle way in the finish. Enjoyable during the summer months, fruity but not overly so, sweet in a natural way…it might even work as an iced tea.

Although I prefer loose tea, I do own teabags, and they sure are practical when not having a lot of time or when inviting people with different preferences. This morning the first applied. It´s been a very long time since I bought these, and I couldn´t quite remember whether I just bought it for the elderflower (I “brew” my own elderflower cordial to make wonderful gin&tonics), or whether I truly liked it. Well, the elderflower made me buy it, but I do like this tea. Very floral, very soft, very subtle…wonderful when still waking up! And according to London tea company it helps to give your skin that youthful and supple appearance…great indeed!

The pure peppermint.

It is the Lemongrass, green tea based, but where is the tropical fruit flavor?

I thought some black tea this morning would do me well so I looked around my cupboard this morning and found this tea, in pyramid bag form. Drinking this straight black (for a change).

This tea is really nice, it’s sweet, smoky, malty and dry. When I say this is sweet I really mine it, like stevia and hay combined to make some sort of ultra sweet blend which smooths out most of any thickness the black tea has. Though it still has the qualities of a black tea it is rather mild and the sweetness strong. It’s nice, I really like it, but I couldn’t have it all the time. I would consider buying more, I only got a few bags from a sampler to try them.

I discovered this tea after falling in love with this company’s White Tea with Apricot and Elderflower. I still rate that one higher than this, but I’ve discovered that elderflower is a nice, mellow flavor. Being a Yank, I had never tasted it until getting this British tea.

It says to steep this tea for 1-3 minutes. Usually, I find it can take a significantly longer steep. That being said, ten minutes may have been a bit too much — there were slight hints of bitterness suggesting an oversteep, though not enough to make it unpleasant. That being said, it gave time for the spices to come through very well, creating a pleasantly pungent wave of taste.
It’s nice on its own, but I think I may add a bit of sugar another time — I think a bit of sweetness would be an ideal complement to the tea’s original taste.

Not only does my stomach need some comforting but so does my head, ever since I woke up this morning I have felt blurry and very groggy. It’s been constant all day probably caused by staying up very late.

I have been craving peppermint since the realisation of how soon Christmas is hit my mind. I always think of gingerbread men, candy canes, chocolate and nuts. I went through a ginger patch and now this is my candy cane phase.

This tea smells delicious, the peppermint is sweet, refreshing, thick and pure. Sometimes teas with only one ingredient are all that you need, it makes a nice change to drink something so simple.

The flavour is not quite as thick as the scent which will make it easy for my stomach to cope with when my IBS flares up. The leaves taste quite fresh and very natural/pure which gives it a nice sweetness and refreshing/cooling tingle. Being Organic makes all the difference.

I’ve just done late night food shopping (or had it delivered anyway) and everything chore wise is done for the day. I am free to relax and prepare my schedule for tomorrows sales. It may be strange to make a schedule but remember that I am overseas and specific deals are only available for so long such as Della Terra, I would do well to make a note of the time differences. That’s where Google comes in handy :D

My husband chose this tea from the pack, I asked him which tea he would like and he said “The yellow one” which was this chamomile tea.

It smells sweet and fresh, not thick or stale as some chamomile teas can be (especially bagged).

Flavour is pleasant, sweet and floral, fresh and clean, light and buttery. All good qualities for a chamomile tea. In honesty I am not keen on chamomile and some I find undrinkable but this is very nice. Possibly one of the best chamomile teas that I have tried though in honesty I have not had many.

A little honey in this would be amazing, will need to note to self for next time. :)

I have just been told the amazing news….my husband received his £1000 bonus for working hard so I can splurge a little this Black Friday :D There was a chance it would be delayed a month and I would have had to keep my spending at a minimum.

My husband just got home so this Earl Grey should warm him up. Served with a little milk but no sugar.

It’s a medium strength Earl Grey or at least to my pallet. The black tea has some smokiness but is clean tasting ie no astringency. As for the bergamot it’s sweet and a little waxy but natural tasting. It’s a rather clean cut Earl Grey in the way that it’s non offensive, I think even non Earl Grey fans could manage to politely sip this down.

It’s nice enough but again I prefer a strong Earl Grey. This would be a nice teabag to travel with though to make a change from Twinings or Clipper.

My wonderful boyfriend sent me a bag of this from the UK. Very light and subtle, would be a fabulous afternoon tea. Quite floral which I always enjoy.

I don’t have any idea what flavor the elderflower is adding here, but I love the apricot taste! Very light and never bitter. Needs no sweetener. I order 100 bags at a time from the UK. Even with shipping to the US, it’s worth it!

A delicious tea – subtle, but full of depth and flavour. The elderflower is my favourite element here, with the after note of sweet apricot adding something fruity! It’s a mellow tea – I drink it when I’m sleepy, or not feeling 100%, or just want to kick back and relax.

It’s not an offensive or assaulting tea, just something nice to sip on a cosy Sunday afternoon while curled up in bed. I bet it would be beautiful cold brewed too!
