Another tea my French friends brought along.
I´m not too keen on any combination with orange (extract), but this tea was really refreshing and enjoyable. I guess good company makes everything taste better!

Flavors: Citrus Fruits, Tea

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 3 min, 30 sec 8 OZ / 250 ML
gmathis

Agreed—good company and thoughtful friends always make tea taste better.

I have had tea in company and found it delicious only to drink it alone and wonder where the magic went! Glad you enjoyed time with friends!

@ashmanra : the same has happened to me more often than I would have liked. In this case, and with teabags, no such experience ;-)

Sipdown (139)!

Ok, so my last review of this included some interesting wording for some of the flavour notes. In particular, I believe the words “cat dander” were used? Did you just cringe? Yeah; can’t say I blame you because ew. Who wants that in their tea?

Well, made this one earlier in the morning before going out and filling passport information and I have to say that it was incredibly improved. Seriously, I’m not in any way sure what caused the difference but this was 100% improved. For starter, there was no off putting cat dander/shedding pet hair vibe. Instead, I got a light taste of anise/fennel and then a mostly fruity/apple body and finish with a tiny touch of roasty chicory in the aftertaste. Can’t help but wonder if knowing the ingredients this time around helped at all?

Anyway, thank you VariaTEA for the tea even if it was a bit of a head scratcher.

VariaTEA

Haha glad it got better. Also, I am not entirely sure where this one came from. My guess is MissB via Sil as I dont remember ever having this myself tbh.

Thank you VariaTEA for the sample!

I’m having a very weird time drinking this tea though, as much as I appreciate receiving it. I really wish there was an ingredients list easily accessible to me because the flavours I’m experiencing are pretty strange. The first two notes I picked up? Licorice root or fennel and mint; pretty standard/typical for a herbal blend. There’s also a strong herbaceous quality. The problem is that the finish reminds me of this strange kind of cross between burnt sugar and a kind of shed cat hair/dander type smell? It’s kind of gross, but yet I can’t put the mug down either? Seriously, I sort of hate it but I only have like two or three small sips left… The fuck is this!?

EDIT: I Google translated the ingredients on Jardin BIO’s site and there’s “Purple Flower Tops, Anise Seed, Fennel, black currant leaf, chicory root, and apple flavour” in this. I’m guessing it was the chicory root that I found so fascinatingly gross?

I tried this alongside the other one that MissB procured for me. I like this version a little better than the other as it has a more creamy texture and feel to it. Great bagged option for that hot chocolate like tea!

Final Count: 109 (added JW teas)

Oh my goodness, yes! A plain cacao tea in France. I’m in heaven! Just cacao shells, so of course it’s amazing. Very happy I grabbed this.

My daughter told me few minutes ago that I am just a waster…why ? because she discovered in a cupboard an old box of this tea with 15 remaining sachets.
“You’re so tea snobbish she told me…it’s because it is not a Mariage or a Theodor you’re not drinking it” ohhhhh nooooope, just because I totally forgot about it in the cupboard ! (and maybe because I just didn’t want to drink it…as it is tea bags…)

This is a tea I had for free with an order of food and this is an organic green flavoured with orange and bergamot.
The flavouring is a nice idea to me to pair with a green.

She decided to make it for herself (the non waster of us !) but after 2 sips, didn’t want to continue…so here I am to drink it right now.

I told her : so you waste your tea ? …she aswered : come on…it’s not as if it was the best tea of the world ! It’s not a Mariage Frères Tea… (grrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
Agreed it is not even if it is really not bad for an organic supermarket tea brand.
Bergamot, orange and green base is clearly energetic and dynamic.

I have a couple of their bagged teas, the other (ok, pricier, maybe your daughter has a point, and about me as well) line the premium one with 15 bags and wrapped in foil and those are such nice convenient teabags! I got the ceylon and the white tea, and they are probably my best travel tea. Though I gotta be ruthless, since the box only had 15 tea bags and it was getting close to finishing, I have been hoarding those, I really should just have them and get more space.

cteresa

ah, nevermind, am idiot, confused brands. Do not know this one after all. Ignore me, please.
