Sample from Liquid Proust. Thank you!

This has a pleasant Jasmine flavor, but the Oolong tastes like a bitter green tea to me even with a couple splashes of cold water, and I can’t taste the coconut at all. If I were more careful of the time and temperature, it might taste better, but I’ve tried enough Jasmine tea that I like to not be interested in bothering.

Thank you Liquid Proust for this sample!

Tasting #1 – Steep Time 2 Minutes
Excellent color already, slight metallic flavor with roasted qualities. I’m absolutely amazed at how this tea has turned out already.

Tasting #2 – Steep Time 4 Minutes
This reminds me of the Iron Goddess of Mercy with the darkness of the flavors, but not being black. Delicious and soothing

Tasting #3 – Steep Time 6 Minutes
The aroma and flavors have stayed consistent all the way through. I am loving this tea. As soon as my cup is empty I’m ready to fill it again.

Flavors: Metallic, Roasted

I wondered if this one is what an Oriental Beauty tastes like. It was interesting, but pretty close to a Darjeeling. It tasted like super dry raisins and apricots to me. It’s a good tea, but not my preference.

Flavors: Apricot, Drying, Raisins

Preparation
190 °F / 87 °C 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

This is a nice toasty and flavorful oolong. The flavor is relatively full and complex, but it’s also purely from the tea.

‘Supreme Oolong’… this is a Darjeeling oolong.
The first brew is dark and stronger than I like. The second to fourth brew has a slight sweetness to it that I really enjoy. While this could probably brew more, I stopped at the fourth steeping. I decided to brew this after the Yunnan Gold because I was somewhat disappointed with Faerie’s Finest with that tea… this made up for it. I think my taste for Darjeeling oolongs are forever altered after drinking the Formosa Champagne Oolong by Art of Tea because that stuff is just so smooth.

This is the first Faeries Finest product that I have not liked… rather bitter brew. I am actually going to use this to create a coffee grapefruit black tea blend for my bestfriend.

So happy I brew this way I do; because I dislike black teas I steep them at 190 for 2/3 of the time that they should.
This brews a light gold cup that has a nice cocoa taste to it that is actually attached to the black tea taste which is actually wonderful as I brewed it mildly.
I am rather excited to compare these to other black dragon pearls. I think the only way this type of tea can have a higher score is if there was a buttery or honey taste somehow that mixes with the cocoa, though I still like it the way it is now.

If this was a white tea only it would make me angry at how subtle it would be. However, the green tea adds a nice hint of difference in this tea. For what this tea is, it is great. Knowing what to expect when drinking any tea is important and since I knew that this would be very mild I found it to be quite pleasant. Still a little dry and just ‘so’ ‘so’ as far as tea goes.

Maybe a cold brew would bring out more flavour?

I’m not sure. White teas haven’t been my thing. I do have over a dozen 1oz unopened bags of this if you want some __
I ordered 1oz and ended up with 20oz

Yeah I wasn’t a fan either. Thought it might have been just me. I liked it the first time I had it and then the second not so much. . .

It seems like the sort of thing someone would like, so I’ll send it off on the next round of the Herbal TTB.

Aside from aged oolongs, this brews the darkest cup of oolong I have had yet. This is a very dark and roasted taste which I really enjoy. This tea doesn’t have fruity notes to is as many other pheonix oolongs I have had included. This is not an outside tea though as it is just very strong, I prefer to sip this as I read because it just throws my senses wild as it is very strong.

I don’t know why but when my friend came over I decided to put a hand full of this tea into my teapot (a literal handful).
This tea is quite floral but not overwhelming. Wonderful taste and I plan to take this outside when the weather is nice because it is subtle at the same time as quite indeifable as an oolong with floral notes. I am pleased with this tea and from now on I will use about 4 grams instead of half an ounce __

drank Gyokuro by Faerie's Finest
1113 tasting notes

This is what I would call a mid range gyokuro. It’s bright green and has a nice sweetness to its vegetable taste but it isn’t the best yet it isn’t bad nor could I make any remarks to anything I dislike about it; I’m just simply comparing it to other gyokuros I have tasted.
Ice steeping this tea = YUMMY!
I take a teaspoon of this tea and let it fall to the bottom of a cup and pile ice on top of it while I decide to neglect it for 30 minutes. When I return to the cup there is a nice cool liquid in the cup that I can drink with a smile and repeat by throwing more ice on top. Not only is this unique and fun, I get to eat this gyokuro at the end :)

So far on my Amazon order of decaf teas I am one for three. I have tried three of the four decaf teas I bought with my gift card and this is pretty good tasting. It doesn’t taste artificial like their raspberry and its better than their strawberry. I wouldn’t compare this to a major brand of tea but it is not at all bad. I would actually buy this again for those times when decaf is a must for me. Despite the fact that it is not at all bad I would rather be starting in on my Mandala order, but all of that is high caffeine black and puerh and I will have to wait until tomorrow morning.

I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 185 degree water for 2 min.

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 2 min, 0 sec 3 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML

This one came out better than their Raspberry. It is another decaf from my Amazon order. My 5 am days are taking a toll on my tea drinking and I am limited to decaf in the afternoon or sometimes green tea. At least the flavor of this one doesn’t taste quite so artificial like the last one. If I hadn’t had a gift card I probably wouldn’t have bought this but there is a limited amount of decaf on Amazon and I thought this worth a try. At least the decaf coffee I bought from Amazon was quite good, can’t review that here though.

I brewed this one time in an 18 oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 185 degree water for 2 min.

Flavors: Strawberry

This tea is average at best. I had an Amazon gift card to use and was looking for something decaf so I thought I would try this brand with the bizarre name. There is a raspberry flavor to this tea but it comes off as slightly artificial. It is not so bad as to be undrinkable anyway and I think it may make a decent iced tea cold brewed.

I brewed this tea once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 200 degree water for 3 min.

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 3 min, 30 sec 3 tsp 18 OZ / 532 ML
