And yes…that is how it’s labeled on my sampler tin…Organic Honey Bush Tea. :)
This infuses VERY dark…much like a black tea would…a dark bold brown. Probably one of the darker – if not the darkest – honeybush I have had.
This has a very clean smell…with slight sweetness underneath! The taste is very clean, too…and sweet with a smooth feel and pleasant aftertaste.
As far as Plain Honeybush goes…this is very good!
A delicious Yunnan tea. The leaf is beautiful with golden tips, and it smells of wood and spice.
I really like this. It has a hint of pepper, and a roasted wood quality to it… the peppery note seems to be slightly more mellow than some of the Yunnan teas I’ve tasted.
Delicious.
Preparation
I am revisiting this chai because I was in the mood for a rich, delicious chai. I think it’s my SOUL crying out for autumn to finally get here. We had hints of it yesterday and this morning, and now it’s sunny again… I want fall!
As I said before, this is one of the more unusual chai blends I’ve ever encountered. The chocolate and cherry tones are well pronounced, but the spices are not as significant.
Tasty.
This is one of the most unusual tasting chai teas that I’ve ever encountered… unusual but very tasty!
Before reading anything about it, I tasted it, and noticed a chocolate-y note, and something else… but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It tasted a bit like… cherry! But I thought that my taste buds must be off or something, because, I’ve never come across a cherry flavored chai before.
Then I went to the website and saw that this is … in fact, a chocolate cherry flavored chai. Weird! But GOOD!
The cherry is not an IN YOUR FACE kind of cherry flavor – it’s subtle and tastes a bit like a cross between a candied cherry and a bing cherry. The chocolate is smooth and rich tasting. And the chai is not a spicy chai – there aren’t any real strong ginger notes or spicy hot cinnamon… it’s a smoother, sweeter kind of chai, with notes of warmth to accent the mocha like flavors.
I like it!

Backlogging…
I think I am going to have to try this one again – so when I do I am hoping the rating will change. I only infused for 3 minutes and I found it bitter. Perhaps I had high expectations for this tea or many it was human error on my part. I didn’t think I used too much loose leaf, actually less than I usually do…oh well. I mean it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t better than, Adagio’s, for example.
The aroma was pleasant but not over the top. I think it would have been really good if I didn’t get that bit of bitterness, actually, that is why I am going to try it again because I really think that it IS better or at least can be.
And I am not saying the bitterness was too much to handle…it was like black tea, strawberry, and the stems & leaves along with this…so maybe the bitterness of the stem – in comparison – if you can see what I mean…
Again, I have a hunch this is going to be better the next time I try it…but for now I would say between 65 and 70…maybe closer to 65
I’ve been holding off on this one purely because of the name! LOL
Today is the day I get daring!
I will say it doesn’t smell bitter…it smells like Dandelion stems! It short of tastes like Dandelion stems, too, now that I think of it…so I guess that is where the bitterness in the name comes from. I was assuming that it was be nasty bitter but it’s not that bad! It jumps back and forth and back and forth from a little bitter to a little sweet.
It’s a very unusual tea but I am glad I got to try it! I am also really excited because watching these leaves unfurl is awesome!
Not something I would by myself but worth a try anyways!
I tried this last night hoping it would be a great of an experience as my previous jasmine oolong that I had last week. Unfortunately this one didn’t deliver as nicely as the previous one I had. I couldn’t help but think of perfume while sipping this one…and it kind of gave off an oily feel on my tongue. Meh, if you like perfumey jasmine then this would be good, but jasmine aside the oolong was very good and had that “I just want to chew on it” vibe going on if ya get what I mean. Lol
Lovely. The lavender really comes through nicely here, and I like how the fruit flavors linger throughout the sip. It is deliciously fruit-flavored without being too fruity, and nicely floral without being too flowery. And the rooibos are barely discernible.
A delicious cuppa.

Backlogging from the weekend…
I will revisit this one since my notes seem incomplete…but so far I was pleasantly surprised with this one…it was mellower that I expected and I am grateful for that. I was thinking it was going to be all-spicey…
It was cocoa-E and spicy-E but full and a nice black.
I did noticed that over infusing was a little nasty – but then again…why would one do that as much as I did…lol…
So – I won’t hold THAT against them! LOL
I did like this tho and next time I drink it I will try and be more descriptive.
After my horrid “Earl Grey” experience with my last cuppa, I decided to reach for something I was sure to enjoy. Even though I’ve not yet tried these particular jasmine pearls, I love jasmine pearls so I feel very confident I will like these.
Just for fun, I even got out one of my treasured (but seldom used) gaiwans.
Delicious. The jasmine is sweet, lovely and floral. Mellow and relaxing! The green tea tastes very spring-like to me – very fresh and lively, but at the same time quite soft.
This is what I expect from a jasmine pearl. And it delivered!
Preparation
A very good blend. The peppermint is fresh and exhilarating and the black tea base is smooth and unassuming, but neither one overpowers the other.
This is a great tea to drink in the afternoon – a lovely pick-me-up. I’m liking it!
Preparation
This smells like a typical LS probably should but I’m noticing it’s VERY light in color. The taste isn’t bad. Actually the taste seems quite mellow for a LS – at least the others I have tried. Where I find this enjoyable – for those who like extreme LS’s – this might not be strong enough smoky-wise for you…
Black Tea and Mint. Two of my favorite things…let’s see how they are together. Sometimes they work nicely together and other times not so much…
It’s not ‘over the top minty’ but I would say a Happy medium between the black tea and the mint. The aftertaste is refreshing.
Earthy and a tad smoky to the nose. Semi sweet and a little earthy yet a little smoky to taste. Avery different but fairly good.
