My friend got me this tea from Japan. It’s so sweet and fruity – true to the cutesy packaging. The apple flavour is really elevated with a dash of honey and milk.

Really love this tea!

Cute kitty tea! Not gonna lie, this was a random impulse purchase at my local Japanese market, based entirely on the cute packaging. :P

The bags had a really nice sweet orangey scent in the package, but I’m struggling to find any orange flavor at all in the steeped tea… Maybe a tiny hint of candy-sweet orange, like those sugar-coated gummy orange slices? But mostly it’s a generic, somewhat tannic black tea base. Apparently it’s Ceylon, which I can see based on the somewhat metallic flavor. But mostly, it’s tea-ish, with no distinguishing features to speak of.

One cute kitty tea down… I found another of these “Queue Mignonne” teas at the Japanese market this past weekend, which prompted me to start working on sipping them down! After all, they’re only four sachets each.

This one is lovely for fall. It definitely reminds me of those caramel apple lollipops, but perhaps a bit less intense and tart on the green apple. It’s not the most natural-tasting tea in the world, but it does nail that sugary caramel apple flavor. And it’s also one of the few sachets I’ve tried that really can make a whole 12-ounce cup of tea with just a single sachet. The base is fairly mellow yet still present, but the flavor is the star here.

Hopefully the strawberry and orange flavors are just as tasty! :)

“An Ode to Tea” Alphabet Challenge – Q

It’s funny, I didn’t have any “Q” teas a few days ago. But on my latest trip to the local Japanese market, these adorable little teas caught my eye. The packages are three-dimensional and have cute little kittens in teacups on then, and I think the name means “Cute Tail Tea”? It wasn’t until I checked my spreadsheet earlier today that I realized they start with “Q”! It was meant to be, ha ha…

Anyway! This one is quite pleasant. It reminds me a little bit of those yummy caramel apple lollipops that are half green apple lollipop and half caramel. The flavor isn’t overly intense, which I like. The apple is perhaps a bit sweeter than green apple-flavored candies, closer to other Japanese apple candies I’ve had. The base has a metallic and slightly astringent, but somewhat hay-like and biscuity taste to it.

Overall, I’m very happy with it, especially for something I just bought for the cuteness factor. I can’t say whether I would repurchase it if I were able to, but it definitely seems better than other caramel apple teas I’ve tried.
