I really wanted a blueberry tea on Saturday and this was the first one in my stash I found. It was exactly what I was looking for. Just simple, straight forward pure play jammy blueberry notes on a smooth, full bodied base. Just a hint of astringency. Not complicated in its execution.
Steeped this one yesterday… well, kinda.
I was working in the tea lab with a few other people while I was brewing this and I just grabbed what I thought was a recently boiled kettle that had been sitting for a few minutes. Perfect for a white/black tea hybrid, right!? I had the basket infuser of leaf sitting in water for about six minutes before I took it out and I thought that the liquor was preeetttyyyyy pale but I didn’t think much of it until my first sip. Dead cold.
So I basically just made suuuuppppeeerrr shitty “sun tea” steeped in room temperature water. It tasted like the memory of blueberries, and I was just too defeated in the moment to rebrew the cup so I just drank it anyway.
This tea was sent to me by TeaWithJann – so thank you Jann!
I do have a very soft spot for blueberry teas so I didn’t really doubt that I’d enjoy this. It’s a blend of white and black tea which I found interesting, though it tastes more like a white tea but just with perhaps a little extra body. The taste is simple and straightforward – kind of an unadulterated mellow blueberry. More on the natural and realistic side but with a hint of jamminess.
I could see this, in some contexts and moods, being a bit too boring for me but I also sometimes do really crave and seek out these simple mono flavoured blends so it’s a good one to have in my back pocket.
A gifted tea from TeaWithJann that I steeped up for the first time today!
Definitely very distinctly raspberry tasting but more mellow and medium bodied. It reminded me strongly of this raspberry oolong that I used to buy many, many years ago from Tea Desire which had an almost pastry/buttery quality to it, but with more of a vegetal undertone and sort of smokiness from the Gunpower green tea in this blend. Nicer that I expected, if I’m being honest.
I’m trying this one iced today.. Smells nice and peachy, but I can definitely tell it’s green tea! It tastes mostly like green tea – but with some sugar it brings out more of the peach flavour. Not a bad tea, if you like green.

I don’t know why I thought I’d like this tea… But when I got it, the overwhelming smell of bergamot and lavender was so strong, I almost didn’t want to try it. I steeped it for 1 minute, added some sugar, and it’s drinkable. I don’t like the flavour at all. It has an after taste and its really weird for me. Bergamot and lavender aren’t things I like.

I got this tea completely for its name, and smell alone. C’mon. Play on names? Why not? Firstly I’ll say I can really taste the green tea, after that is a nice raspberry – or berry in general taste. I got a nice piece of raspberry in my tsp so that’s a good thing. I also really liked seeing all the leaves expand, since there’s oolong in this as well. This is a good tea in general. I like it.
