15467 Tasting Notes
This one was a sample from Kittena over the weekend. This is a tea I’d be willing to buy for myself. I really enjoy the fruity aspect of the tea while not losing out on the “green.” I really like the mix of rasberry and apricot as well. No unpleasant aftertaste and even as it cooled it was still a pleasure to drink.
I’m pretty sure indigobloom gave me this one, but if it was Kittena, she’ll be too busy to notice :)
I really like this tea, it’s every thing I want in a berry tea, when I’m drinking a berry tea. I can imagine that it would be super nice iced. I really like the balance that this tea has. None of the flavours are overpowering the others. It’s not too sweet nor is there any bitterness to it.
So having just come back from a tea meet up/swap with Indigobloom and Kittena I pretty much felt compelled to reach into the HUGE bag of goodies they dumped on me to try and least one tonight. Randomly chosen from the sample they gave me was this one. This one smells wonderful! Caramel and coffee and toffee… Not sure just a wackload of yummy goodness. After steeping it, it tastes a lot like it smells, but it’s a stronger taste – less sweet than i’d expected but still really nice. I think there’s a version of this from another company that my florida friend loves so I’ll have to compare the two. Overall, not a bad start to the MOUNTAIN OF TEA that Kittena and Indigobloom have tried to bury me under!
lol we had a good time…had some tea, saw an accident, had some food…looked like a bunch of drug dealers. it was good :)
Hahahahaha! Looking like drug dealers was the best. I’m glad I didn’t get a parking ticket while we were doling things out though!
As it turns out when I was a little kid I used to loooove guava. I would beg my mother to buy it at the store any time I saw it. This tea is like getting smacked in the face with a fist full of juicy guava bits. It smells like guava, brew like guava and anyone who loves guava should have this tea in their cupboard. I however, in my “old” age have fallen out of favor with guava. I try to love it, but it never loves me back. On the plus side, I don’t fault the tea for that as its a really nice tea, just not to my liking. I’ve enough of the sample that the persimmon tree tea provided to try it cold as well, so I’ll be doing that in case it lends itself to being more of a cold tea that I can drink. I really do love the generous sampls they provide. It really let’s you play with the tea a bit more instead of trying to get everything you can out of a whee little sample. :)
This is a really interesting tea. The smell when we first opened the tin was intense and lingered well after the lid had been closed. Citrus, cinnamon and the cloves all blended together. Once I steeped it, the cinnamon and cloves became the dominant scent. Really enjoyed the tea hot..but as it cooled off the citrus notes became more dominant leading to a strange blend of flavours. Would love to see how this tastes with milk added to it.
Received this tea as a sample from The Persimmon Tree and I’m not sure what to make of it. There isn’t much in the way of orange going on here – there’s a lot of rooibos. It’s not a bad tea, but it’s not really what I’d expect from an Orange tea. I’ll have to try this again and see if it was the water temp or timing.
In another note…it would be nice to consolidate the teas for this company under one listing – there are two going on. And I’m not sure what’s up with the picture I uploaded…tried with both the URL and uploading an image and it’s always a blurry mess once it’s on the site. sigh
After multiple attempts at drinking this tea I’ve finally decided that it’s just not the tea for me. However, I won’t hold that against the tea. It is a GREAT tea. The balance of flavors, the smell…everything about the tea says love me! But I don’t. So I will leave this tea for others (Helena) but I’m happy that I got a chance to try it and still think that this is a tea many will enjoy.
lol I’ll have to give the peach a try Helena. It might juts be that oolongs are not me thing. I think I’ll need another order to find out grin
I thought you tried the peach oolong already and had to experiment with temp and steeping or I’m confusing you with someone else :D I find the strawberry is a bit much for me. The grape was interesting but so far the peach is the best of the 3. You can always try Citron Oolong from David’s Tea it tastes mostly like lemon :D
