Nothing says HELLO GOOD MORNING! than a matcha smoothie! (Unless you’re Helena) I tossed in some frozen mangos as well as the matcha into my smoothie this morning just to have a bit of extra kick. It was delicious! I really like the blending of actual fruit and matcha. I’ll have to try that with my berry matcha as well!
Soooo didn’t get much of a chance to drink tea this weekend. Without going in to details about work, we’re in the middle of migration hell so I’ve gotten to spend most of my weekend doing manual updates to 100’s of users. Talk about time consuming and painful! Did manage to get to the gym today to try and start that up again after our two week vacation hiatus. So opted for a delicious smoothie for my evening work – something to keep me going for a bit longer.
I reaaaaallly wanted a cheesecake smoothie but since its on back order and who knows when my order will be here, I opted to save that for Monday? Maybe and try to drink down some of the other matches I have. I’m suddenly over 10 flavours when I had at one point only intended to keep 5 at a time haha! Curse you red leaf for making such yummy matcha!
Again, the berry matcha really does give off that random berry flavour that you get when you miss a bunch of different kinds of berries together in a smoothie. I love it though. Was thinking that someday I should mix berry, pear, black cherry into one :)
that sounds yummy! the only time I’ve ever wanted to experiment with blending teas is with matcha… I think because it’s a powder (or I’m crafting too much in Guild Wars 2 and it’s unleashed my inner mixing monster) I haven’t mixed too much yet as I don’t have enough matcha (yet) to go crazy with… but soon… very soon…
So this is a sample from Azzrian and I have to say, it’s pretty tasty. I totally don’t get pineapple when I drink it but what I do get is a nice tangy refreshing beverage. I think this would be pretty awesome cold so I’m going to use the last of my sample to give that a try tomorrow. This would be a really nice drink on a hot summer day…even hot :) it’s that right balance of sweet and tangy that throws a party in your mouth that your mind can dance to heh thanks Azz!
mmmm so i made this one cold today after last night’s latte. I have to say i think i prefer the latte, though the cold isn’t too shabby. I made this one a little on the strong side so the raspberry’s is a bit more intense and there’s a hint of artificial to it. Still a delicious concoction for this afternoon’s cleaning!
Ew not a fan of this one. Too much astringency. Left a funny taste in my mouth as well. oh well another tea down off the 12938714876723642374734873248729387429837432877 types out there heh :)
So I’m fairly certain that this was from kittena judging by the tasting notes. While this tea isn’t bad, it goes into my “oolong” bucket. That is to say, the type of tea I just don’t often care for. There’s nothing wrong with this tea but it carries that distinctive taste that says OOOoOoOoOoOooooOoolong! To me ;) which means that’s all that I can focus on. That being said this tea has a beautiful golden colour when steeped and there’s a taste behind the oolong that is quite nice. I’ll withhold rating it though as my dislike of oolongs would bring it down.
Appreciate the chance to taste it though :)
So for you it seems it is Ooowrong.
LOL I love Oolong but I can see how some would totally dislike it.
Yeppers, Indigobloom didn’t get in on Peony Tea S.‘s promo, so it was from me. I don’t recall if I liked it, but given that I do enjoy dark oolongs… probably!
Last Matcha review for today!
My matcha order was the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
Flavor: Robust
So I have to say i was curious to try this in part because of how much I love the raspberry truffle from Butiki Teas. Matcha is a whole different ballgame but I was curious as to how they’d be different. This matcha smells HEAVENLY! It actually smells the way that raspberry truffles do when you buy them in shops that make them fresh.
I made this one as a hot Latte, though I’m curious as to how it will blend in a smoothie as well. This matcha is fabulous! I’m not sure whether i like this or the black cherry better – cheesecake and caramel are still my favourites. This though, is that raspberry that blends with the chocolate that isn’t the waxy type of chocolate that makes me hate chocolate. I’m really glad that i went with the robust in this matcha as it’s the kind of taste that says HEY! EAT ME! :)
I really do want to thank Red Leaf for their matcha program, even though it’s new incarnation will be a bit different. I don’t think i would have tried as many matchas if they hadn’t had a great program. I probably would have stuck to consistently ordering 2 of the same kind. It’s flavours like this that make me want to keep on trying all of the flavours until i’ve had them all.
Raspberry Truffle you make my heart happy for the delicious taste of raspberry and chocolate together!
