Backlogging from Dinner

I don’t think I gave this tea a fair first try because I was sipping it with really, really sweet lemon bars at dinner. That made the hibiscus taste really bitter to me and I might have liked it under different circumstances. So, I’m not going to rate this one until I have a chance to give it another try. Preferably with freshly boiled water and in the privacy of my own dorm room.

this one’s good iced with lemonade mixed in!

That sounds really interesting. I will have to try that.

Backlogging from lunch today

This always makes a nice cup with a meal. I find it to be just light enough for a mid-day meal and satisfying enough that I don’t want anything else right away.

The next time I wake up before my alarm and think that I don’t need to make myself a tumbler of tea to take to class, I have to smack myself and make one anyway. It helps me to be more alert in the morning and I always need that Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

SIPDOWN! Hot with milk as an after dinner tea. Last bag of the decaf one. I have been reluctant to drink this for a lack of any other breakfast teas but I went to the store and got some more breakfast tea for school. English and Irish respectively. I’m happy.

I don’t know who is making the scones this year, but they are doing it fantastically. The outside is crunchy and the inside is nice and soft. Hot with butter, they are so good.

I only have one cup of my other breakfast tea left that I am saving for Tuesday. From now on, I’ll probably be drinking this in the morning. It is very nice plain and it stands up to my eggs in the morning.

Mmm. Love scones. I make some kick ass blueberry ones with lemon curd.

I got this tea today at a Pagan Pride festival. It is black tea infused with roses; a combination that I have always wanted to try. It is also my second loose leaf tea, so that means that I get to use my tea ball.

Drank hot. The dry leaves smell so good. It smells like a rosebush with a light undertone of plain tea. The liquor is a golden amber color and it is pretty. I found it interesting that when I steeped the tea, the flowers opened up and were a pale pink color after they were done brewing. It was interesting.

I only did one infusion of this tea because I’m not sure how well it will stand up to steeping. It tasted really light and delicate. Almost too delicate right now. I didn’t really taste any hint of anything. Maybe a little sweetness. It was not bitter at all. Even the last swallow wasn’t really bitter. It was nice. I am so glad that this will make about 10-14 cups because I will have to make this again before rating it. I never had rose, so I want to make sure that I have time to taste all of the complexities of the cup before saying how much I like it.

I also saw the season finale of Dr Who tonight. No spoilers, but OMG! I can’t wait until the next season!

I drank two cups of this at dinner today to get my brain working again. If I can just do all of my work tonight and make it until Wednesday, then I can survive this week.

Thank you Kathy. It did help a lot that week and also helps me battle homesickness on occasion.

Backlogging from Tuesday morning and This Morning

I swear, this tea saves me in the morning. Hot with milk. I need to either find a bigger tumbler or just prepare two tumblers in the morning because one is not enough. I am almost out of this tea too, so I will have to get more “breakfast” tea soon.

I must have steeped this less than normal, because it doesn’t taste like peppermint except in the cool aftertaste. Like how your mouth feels after you brush your teeth with peppermint toothpaste. It is ok and I really need tea. After being used to having at least 2-4 cups a day, you have massive tea cravings when you don’t have it for a while. At least I do.

I went to see the Merchant of Venice with a group of friends yesterday. It was fun even if we didn’t get back until after midnight last night. I am really going to miss being a college student in about a year and living in a massive community of friends.
