I decided to put this in as a custom tea because it is the first time in a while that I have had any bubble tea. Wow, it is sweet! They sweetened it with honey and the honey taste is really thick. It is good, just sweeter than I expected.

My friend gave me some more of these bundles as a gift along with a new tea mug. I’m steeping one now and I have a full kettle of water to get at least two steeps out of the bundle.

The first steep is exactly as I remember it. Dark and rich and flavorful. Just what I need to keep those chocolate cravings at bay because I am supposed to be being good this Easter holiday. It was an interesting experience to get the tea out of my press without squishing the rosette. The fully expanded rosette looks like a little Cthulhu on the bottom of my press.

The second steep is even deeper and richer. This is reminding me of how much I love Yunnan Blacks! So yummy.

I left the third steep sit in there for about eight-nine minutes. The flavor is a little less intense than the second steep, but still yummy. I love having teas that I can re-steep. One day, I will learn how to take my time with them throughout an entire afternoon. But for now, it makes a delicious snack-time tea.

I found some more rose petals in the bag. Now I am tasting the lovely sweetness of the rose against the black tea. I am going to have to get some more rose tea in the future.

I have been watching Star Trek TNG all day and haven’t had a cup of some sort of Earl yet. I’m surprised. But this is very nice in the evening.

I really did run out of rose petals in this bunch. I think I only have about 4-5 cups left. Less if I prepare the tea to drink in my white cat mug. At least it is a pretty good black tea. I just really miss the rose flavor. The roses made it sweeter.

This is the last of the tea samples that the lovely Ashley gave to me. The liquid is deeper this time since I used my press and there are no big particles in my cup. Lovely. Favorite part about my press so far.

It is a goregous red-brown. My first cup of this using my tea ball sure didn’t look this way. I’m taking that as a good sign. This tea smells like liquid red hots. I could spend all day just smelling this tea and I would be happy. It tastes like them too, but something is off about it. On the forefront of the sip is the sweet and spicy cinnamon, but then there is a strange taste. It almost tastes chalky.

Something about this isn’t quite melding for me. I think it might be the rooibos that I am tasting, but I’m not sure. I think I might like this better as their black tea blend. It isn’t bad, so the rating is going up. I wouldn’t reach for this on my own. I think the flavor needs to be with a stronger base to get it to meld together for me.

This is my first Earl in my Earl Grey Challenge. It is exactly what I need right now. Nice, mellow, and comforting. I didn’t have a chance to get breakfast today because I had an intense online midterm, but I think I did well and now I get to relax for about two seconds before I get to run off to my next class. Just enough time to finish a cup.

It is really hit or miss every time I have this tea because there is just not enough rose in the blend. Each time I get a different amount of rose and the black tea base is a little flat without it. It is times like these when I just need to get a pouch of rose blooms or blossoms or hips or whatever is in this tea to make it rosey to just add to the tea when I don’t think there is enough in it. Then it would be perfect every time.

I was talking to my friends at breakfast about my Earl Grey addiction and the topic of different brands of Earl Grey came up. I have decided that tomorrow I will go through the entire day drinking as many different types of Earl Grey as I can. Bring it on for tomorrow!
